PT. APP faces significant challenges in meeting customer demands due to persistent production inefficiencies, particularly in the Kiln Dry and Finishing stages. These inefficiencies result in delays, poor product quality, and workflow disruptions, leading to customer dissatisfaction and increased operational costs. Key issues include cracks, peeling paint, and dents in the final product, which are rooted in inadequate training, outdated machinery, suboptimal methods, and environmental conditions. The study aims to analyze and address these bottlenecks to improve the company's operational performance and customer satisfaction. This research adopts a structured methodology, utilizing Root Cause Analysis (RCA) with the 5 Why technique to systematically investigate the underlying factors contributing to production inefficiencies. Complementary tools like Pareto Analysis and Fishbone Diagrams are employed to prioritize critical defects and categorize their root causes into six factors: Manpower, Machine, Materials, Methods, Measurement, and Mother Nature. Based on these analyses, practical solutions are proposed, including process standardization, equipment upgrades, enhanced quality control, and environmental controls to stabilize production conditions and reduce defects. The findings reveal that addressing the primary defects—cracks, peeling paint, and dents—can significantly enhance production efficiency and product quality. Implementing targeted interventions such as structured worker training, improved material handling, and updated equipment yielded substantial improvements in operational performance. This study highlights the importance of a systematic approach to problem-solving and provides actionable strategies for sustainable improvement, laying the groundwork for future research into advanced manufacturing technologies and sustainable practices..
Abdullah Ayman Salmin

https://radjapublika.com/index.php/IJEBAS/article/view/2289

The fashion industry in Indonesia plays a critical role in the country’s economy, contributing significantly to employment and creative exports. However, recurring production defects, including uneven seams, fabric tearing, improper sizing, and missing buttons, present significant challenges for garment manufacturers such as MOOI Clothing Line. These quality issues not only increase operational costs through rework and waste but also threaten customer satisfaction and market competitiveness. This research aims to analyze and address the root causes of production defects using the Six Sigma DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) methodology. The study begins with the identification of critical defects at MOOI Clothing Line, where Pareto analysis reveals that uneven seams account for over 33% of total defects, making it the top priority for improvement. Through the Measure phase, Statistical Process Control (SPC) and process capability analysis are employed to assess defect trends and production stability. Results show that MOOI's current sigma level is approximately 3.17–3.55, highlighting the need for process improvement to meet the company's target of reducing defects to a maximum of 2%.Root cause analysis, conducted using Fishbone Diagrams, identifies critical factors such as inefficient workflow systems, lack of standardized quality control procedures, and insufficient operator training as primary contributors to defects. To address these issues, the research proposes an improved production workflow that segments sewing tasks by garment components (e.g., collars, sleeves, body parts), ensuring greater consistency and reducing variability. Additionally, the implementation of interim quality control checkpoints before final assembly enables early defect detection, minimizing rework and production inefficiencies.Further recommendations include enhancing operator skills through structured training programs, implementing robust Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for quality control, and introducing systematic defect documentation to monitor recurring issues. By fostering a culture of continuous improvement and leveraging Six Sigma tools, MOOI Clothing Line can significantly reduce defect rates, improve operational efficiency, and enhance customer satisfaction. The results of this research provide practical insights for garment manufacturers facing similar challenges and emphasize the importance of structured quality management systems in achieving sustainable production standards.

Sultansyah Ilham Ramadhan

Along with the rapid development of e-commerce in Indonesia, trust in online buying and selling platforms has become an important factor influencing consumer decisions. On the other hand, a strong brand image also contributes to forming positive perceptions regarding product and service quality. In this study, data were collected using questionnaires distributed to Tokopedia customers in Lubuklinggau, South Sumatra, with a representative sample. The analysis method used was multiple linear regression to test the relationship between variables. The results showed that both trust and brand image have a significant positive effect on customer satisfaction. Furthermore, customer satisfaction has been shown to contribute significantly to customer loyalty, indicating that satisfied consumers tend to make repeat purchases at Tokopedia. This research provides important contributions to marketing practices and strategy development to improve brand trust and image, which can ultimately support increased customer satisfaction and loyalty in this digital era. Therefore, Tokopedia marketing managers need to consider the results of this study in formulating effective policies and strategies to attract and retain customers.
Ana YanoviYomeini Margareth

https://radjapublika.com/index.php/IJEBAS/article/view/2280

This study aims to examine the effect of employee training and technology investment on employee performance productivity, with income inequality as a moderating variable, in the Indonesian manufacturing sector. The research method used is a quantitative approach with secondary data analysis from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) and the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) during the period 2019–2023. The research sample includes medium and large-scale manufacturing companies, selected through stratified random sampling techniques based on provinces for proportional representation. Data were analyzed using moderated regression. The results of the study indicate that employee training has no significant effect on employee performance productivity. Meanwhile, technology investment has a negative effect if not accompanied by proper management. Income inequality is shown to moderate the relationship between independent and dependent variables in a complex manner, but income inequality weakens the positive effect of employee training but strengthens the relationship between technology investment and productivity. The implication of this study is the importance of synergy between employee training, adoption of technology investment, and management of income inequality distribution to optimally increase employee performance productivity.
Nelvika DarliaSri Utami AdyNur Sayidah

https://radjapublika.com/index.php/IJEBAS/article/view/2292

Throughout 2023, PT Bank Negara Indonesia (BNI) achieved a net profit of IDR 209 trillion, marking a 142% increase from the previous year. Despite this notable growth, BNI's profitability remains significantly lower than its competitors, including BCA, BRI, and Bank Mandiri, which achieved profits of IDR 486 trillion, IDR 604 trillion, and IDR 550.6 trillion, respectively. Additionally, BNI’s market capitalization lags behind, at only IDR 165 trillion compared to BCA’s IDR 1,031 trillion. A preliminary study revealed that BNI struggles to attract Gen Z users, primarily due to the perceived complexity and limited functionality of its Mobile Banking services. These challenges underline the need for strategic innovations to strengthen BNI’s competitive position. This study adopts a mixed-methods approach, combining qualitative and quantitative data collection to provide a comprehensive analysis. Structured interviews were conducted with internal stakeholders at BNI to identify internal challenges and opportunities. Simultaneously, survey questionnaires targeting 150 non-customers of BNI were used to gather external insights. The collected data underwent rigorous reliability and validity tests and were analyzed using SWOT and TOWS frameworks to formulate actionable strategies. Key frameworks such as PESTEL, Porter’s Five Forces, and VRIO were also integrated to enhance the analysis. The findings highlight that BNI’s strengths lie in its robust digital infrastructure, extensive physical and digital reach, and strong brand reputation. However, weaknesses include limited differentiation in digital features, high investment costs, and a smaller user base. Opportunities in digital financial services, sustainable finance, and FinTech collaborations can be leveraged to address these weaknesses. Threats such as intense competition and rising customer expectations necessitate operational efficiency and innovation. Based on these insights, targeted strategies were proposed to enhance BNI’s Mobile Banking platform, expand market reach, and optimize customer engagement, positioning BNI as a competitive player in the Indonesian banking sector.
Kevin Omar Muhammad

Information technology has become an integral element in everyday life and plays an important role in supporting various human activities. Many organizations compete to create applications to solve various problems faced. Every time a new problem arises, applications are often considered the main solution that can be relied on. However, this tendency can cause new problems. The applications created sometimes overlap and cause data redundancy and increase the volume of work, so that information technology created to make work easier on the other hand actually adds to the work. This study discusses how to align business strategies and information technology so that the information technology used can make work more effective and efficient. This study uses TOGAF as the main tool to create the right information technology management strategy. https://radjapublika.com/index.php/IJEBAS/article/view/2275

The education sector in Indonesia is undergoing a profound transformation as digital technology reshapes traditional practices to meet the demands of an increasingly connected society. This study focuses on Yayasan Al-Azhar Medan, a pioneer in Islamic private education in Medan, Indonesia, which faces challenges in optimizing its digital marketing strategies to enhance online engagement and enrollment rates. Despite a strong presence on social media platforms, the foundation's website fails to meet user expectations in terms of functionality, interactivity, and user experience. Consequently, the contribution of online registration to total enrollment remains low, highlighting a missed opportunity to leverage digital platforms effectively. This research examines the impact of digital marketing elements, including Search Engine Marketing (SEM), Social Media Marketing (SMM), Content Marketing (CM), Display Marketing (DM), and Email Marketing (EM), on consumer purchase intention, using the AIDA model (Attention, Interest, Desire, Action) as a theoretical framework. A mixed-methods approach was employed, combining qualitative insights from interviews with parents and quantitative analysis from a survey of 200 respondents. The study also incorporates marketing tools analysis to provide a comprehensive understanding of both internal and external factors influencing digital marketing effectiveness. Findings reveal that while Yayasan Al-Azhar Medan outperforms competitors in website traffic, engagement metrics such as average visit duration and bounce rate indicate low user interaction. The current website design does not adequately address the needs of prospective students and parents, who prioritize seamless navigation, informative content, and interactive features. Statistical analysis confirms that SEM, SMM, CM, DM, and EM significantly influence purchase intention, with Display Marketing showing the highest impact. The proposed digital marketing strategy emphasizes enhancing website functionality, integrating cost simulation tools, and leveraging personalized email campaigns to foster deeper user engagement. The study contributes to the field of digital marketing in education by demonstrating how targeted strategies can bridge the gap between digital presence and user conversion. Recommendations include a phased implementation plan for website redevelopment and integrated marketing campaigns to position Yayasan Al-Azhar Medan as a leader in Islamic education in the digital age. These strategies aim to increase online registration rates, strengthen brand awareness, and provide a user-centric digital experience aligned with the institution's vision and values.
Gampang Wicaksono

https://radjapublika.com/index.php/IJEBAS/article/view/2325

Coffee is one of the strategic commodities in the plantation sub-sector that has high economic value. The development of the coffee shop business in Medan City has led to competition in the coffee shop sector which has caused consumers to be more selective and can easily move from one coffee shop to another to decide to buy coffee. The increase in competition requires companies to highlight their own characteristics and uniqueness in order to be superior to other companies that offer similar products and of course attract consumers' attention. Therefore, management needs to pay attention to and consider the store atmosphere if they want to attract, entice, or encourage consumers to visit the cafe so that consumer satisfaction will be realized and consumers will be interested in visiting. The data analysis technique in this study was carried out with classical assumptions and multiple linear regression tests. The results of this study indicate that the Lifestyle Variable has a coefficient value of 0.714 indicating that the more relevant the consumer's lifestyle is to the products or services offered, the more likely consumers will make a decision to buy. The Brand Image variable has a coefficient value of 0.309 indicating that positive consumer perceptions of the brand can increase consumer decisions to buy and the Store Atmosphere variable has a coefficient value of -0.284 indicating a significant negative influence, meaning that the worse the store atmosphere, the less likely consumers will decide to buy. Overall, consumer decisions are greatly influenced by a combination of lifestyle, brand image, and cafe atmosphere. Therefore, an integration strategy of these three aspects needs to be carried out consistently.
Gita Ayu LestariEndang Sulistya RiniSyafrzal Helmi Situmorang

This study focuses on improving the delivery service quality and operational performance of PT Jaya Connect Transportindo (PT JCT), a local logistics provider specializing in last-mile delivery for telecommunications equipment. Currently, PT JCT is facing several challenges, including a 9% defect rate and a sigma level of 3.38, resulting in a 91% service level performance. This performance falls short of the company’s goal to achieve a 4% defect rate and a 95% service level, which is the benchmark set by its top competitors. Key issues affecting PT JCT’s performance include a lack of operational staff, heavy reliance on a small number of partners, outdated tracking methods, and the absence of a system to evaluate partner performance. To address these challenges, this study applies the Six Sigma DMAIC methodology—Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, and Control. Using tools such as the Fishbone Diagram, Statistical Process Control, and Process Capability Analysis, the research identifies the root causes of delivery issues, grouped into five categories: Man, Material, Method, Measurement, and Machine. The study proposes several practical solutions: adding more operational staff, expanding the network of delivery partners, introducing a real-time GPS tracking system, implementing a performance evaluation system for partners with clear KPIs, and ensuring vehicle reliability through regular inspections. These improvements are accompanied by a structured implementation plan to ensure their successful execution and long-term sustainability. By adopting these solutions, PT JCT can significantly reduce its defect rate, improve service quality, and achieve its performance targets. This research highlights how logistics companies can use Six Sigma tools to overcome operational challenges, enhance customer satisfaction, and maintain a competitive edge in a demanding market.
Abdul Hakim Amiranto

https://radjapublika.com/index.php/IJEBAS/article/view/2263

The ATM card production process at PT DEF has encountered recurring quality defects, including misaligned printing, uneven cutting, and scratched surfaces, leading to increased costs, operational inefficiencies, and reduced customer satisfaction. These issues have significantly impacted production reliability and raised concerns about the company’s ability to meet industry standards. Given the critical importance of quality in banking products, PT DEF must address these challenges to maintain its reputation, operational efficiency, and customer trust. This research employs the Six Sigma DMAIC framework to identify, analyze, and address the root causes of defects. Data collection methods include Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), control charts, and fishbone diagrams, supported by interviews and observations. The study prioritizes corrective actions based on Risk Priority Numbers (RPN) and implements improvements such as equipment upgrades, enhanced training programs, and stricter material quality control. A robust control phase ensures sustainability through monitoring, audits, and real-time reporting. The findings reveal a reduction in defect rates and significant improvements in process efficiency following the implementation of corrective measures. The DPMO decreased from 5,108.38 in June 2022 to 1,881.40 in March 2024, with corresponding improvements in Final Yield and Sigma Values. These results demonstrate the effectiveness of a structured quality management approach in addressing production challenges and underline the importance of sustained efforts to achieve near-perfect production standards in the banking industry.
Muhammad Farrel Apta Fedora
