Abstract
Incomplete basic immunization in children remains a public health problem that has the potential to increase the risk of vaccine-preventable diseases (PD3I). The coverage of complete basic immunization that has not reached the national target is influenced by various factors, including maternal knowledge, maternal attitudes towards immunization, and access to health services. This study aims to determine the factors associated with incomplete basic immunization in children in the working area of the Dungingi Community Health Center in Gorontalo City. The study used a quantitative method with an observational analytical design through a cross-sectional approach . The study population was all mothers with children aged 0–23 months, totaling 143 people, with a sample of 59 respondents determined using the Slovin formula. Data collection was carried out using a questionnaire, then analyzed univariately and bivariately using the Chi-Square test with a significance level of α = 0.05. The results of the study showed that most respondents had good knowledge (30 people) (50.8%), positive attitudes (34 people) (57.6%), easy access to health services (33 people) (55.9%), and children with complete basic immunization status (33 people) (55.9%). The results of the bivariate analysis showed a significant relationship between maternal knowledge and children's basic immunization status (p-value = 0.000), maternal attitudes and children's basic immunization status (p-value = 0.001), and access to health services and children's basic immunization status (p-value = 0.003). It was concluded that maternal knowledge and attitudes and access to health services were significantly related to children's basic immunization status. Therefore, it is necessary to improve health education, continuous immunization counseling, and strengthen access to health services to increase the coverage of complete basic immunization and support the achievement of the national immunization program targetsKeywords:
